Training!

It has begun! All 7 full time team members of the Forest Foundation are here in Santa Barbara, beginning the next stage of our journey. After morning meetings with Morris Squire, who sheds his insight into current world politics and self-discovery techniques, the group is working hard, bonding and learning, and composing Training sessions in teams which will be implemented throughout the Foundation.

Personal growth initiatives are an integral part of the Forest Foundation...We've taken up the job of working as Personal Trainers, and our goal of 20 ready to go Trainings is set for September 1st! Under the leadership of master Dan Gebow, we're on our way!

Pictures soon!

Forest Foundation and the Fashion World

Another Jeans sale for tzedakah? Not quite. But the Forest Foundation is dipping it's left pinky toe back into the fashion world by working with hot designers (and young Jews) Scott Ortner and Richie Dinets of Breakfree Designs --www.breakfreedesigns.com-- on the new Moishe House logo. This logo will be central in the design of our website and more generally in our campaign to brand ourselves and get the name out there.

We here at Moishe House have been very impressed with the Breakfree perspective on art - that it's something that can be worn or even displayed in other ways. Stay tuned in August and September for a variety of Moishe House marketing items as well as an exciting new website.

Challah!

Habit #1

I am reading "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" and have already learned so much. I am really enjoying it although I feel like a lot of what the book suggests is fairly obvious and I find myself thinking, why didn't I think of that. For exaple, the first habit is "be proactive". That seems pretty obvious. If you are reactive than you are waiting for others to tell you what to do, both personally and professionally. Why would anyone want to spend their time that way. The book says "act or be acted upon" and that is my thought of the day, take control of your life, your future, your profession, your emotions, your health, your happiness.

4th of JEW-ly

What can be more patriotic than a bunch of Jews coming together on our nation's birthday to watch beloved Italy and Germany duke it out in the world's most popular event? Nothing. That's the answer. Nothing - and that's exactly what Moishe House San Francisco did this past Tuesday. Pictured here are just a few of the 65+ folks that stopped over at the magical house on Fell St. With televisions on in the front living room and the beautiful back deck - next to the grill - Moishe House San Francisco set a record for the most number of Americans ever to gather in one place on it's nations birthday and watch men run around and not score for almost an entire 2 hours. One of the great pleasures of running Moishe House is that I get to live in one too. As the old saying goes - I'm not only a client I'm also the president!
